    Where will you be working?

    At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.  

    We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. 

    This role will be within our Metering team, you’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.  

    Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored. 

    This role sits within our Installation Services team, where we turn data into insights that power smarter decisions. You’ll join a team that manages and enhances our Management Information (MI) systems, ensuring accuracy, reliability and innovation. This is a hybrid role and is based from our Newcastle office.

    As a Junior Analyst, you will be responsible for the daily monitoring and extraction of the business critical MI, running pre-built reporting queries, and exporting data on a regulated and ad-hoc basis. This data contributes to performance dashboards and contractual reporting for internal stakeholders and external clients, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. The role requires efficiency, attention to detail in data validation, and the ability to meet deadlines. You will also be expected to demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in data management and reporting processes.

    What will you be doing?  

    • Daily checking and monitoring of SQL reports
    • Building and maintaining performance dashboards
    • Maintaining and improving existing data systems to ensure accuracy and uptime
    • Extracting relevant data from internal systems and presenting it in clean and consistent formats.
    • Provide written commentary to compliment data reports
    • Supporting internal and external clients with data requests and queries

    What you’ll bring?

    • Strong focus on accuracy and consistency with a keen eye for detail
    • Excellence in communication with the ability to effectively communicate complex data to diverse audiences
    • Problem solving, identifying issues and recommending solutions
    • Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables and advanced functions
    • Basic understanding of SQL and the ability to run queries
    • Analytical skills
    • Efficiency and able to work to deadlines
