  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and re imagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

    Where will you be working?

At M Group Water we help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will join BGEN - one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions

    What will you be doing?

In your role, you will prepare and review lifting plans for every operation on site, making sure tasks are carried out safely and smoothly.

You will follow approved method statements and risk assessments, giving everyone confidence that the work is being done the right way.

You will coordinate with crane operators, riggers, and supervisors so that each lift is properly sequenced and safe.

Before any activity begins, you will verify that all lifting equipment is inspected, certified, and fully up to date.

You will oversee operations from start to finish, ensuring that all team members are trained, competent, and following the lifting plan.

You will make sure every lift complies with statutory regulations such as LOLER, while keeping accurate records of risk assessments, inspections, and lifting plans.

If incidents or near misses occur, you will report them immediately and ensure follow up actions are taken.

You will provide guidance and training on safe lifting practices, hazard awareness, and correct equipment use.

You will help maintain competency records, prepare for emergencies, and support rescue procedures.

By identifying improvements, joining toolbox talks, and contributing to audits, you will strengthen safety culture and reduce risks across the site.

    What you'll bring:

Hold a valid Appointed Person for Lifting Operations qualification (e.g., CPCS or equivalent)
    CCNSG certification
Significant experience in planning and executing complex lifts
Strong knowledge of LOLER 1998 and associated safety standards
Skilled in risk assessment and method statement development
Ability to oversee multiple lifting operations in high risk environments
Experience with cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
Background in nuclear or large scale construction sites (e.g., Hinkley Point C)
First Aid and relevant safety certifications
    Leadership and team management skills
Attention to detail and compliance focus
    Effective problem solving under pressure
