    Where will you be working?

    At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future.

    We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.

    This role will be within our Private networks. We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.

    This is a field based role with the main areas been in the South of England.

    What will you be doing?

    • You’ll apply knowledge of fibre and networking principles to deliver project completion across various delivery solutions across Customer sites.
    • You’ll be ensuring that Health & Safety and company quality standards are always adhered to, end to end testing of circuits, Installation, and commissioning of telecommunications equipment working with other colleagues or departments where required.
    • You’ll be collaborating with project engineers to shape a safe methodology for deployment of works to then execute planning installation once on site in a safely manner.
    • You’ll be escalating incidents to H&S and Operations Manager as needed.
    • You’ll be assisting with analysis of the root cause of faults and aid with other departments.
    • You’ll be undertaking site surveys
    • Completing site audits by schedule agreed with Engineering Operations Manager
    • Responsible for all contractors working under our RAMS, as Principal Contractor and Competent Pearson role played on site.
    • You’ll be completing assigned training in a timely manner to maintain certification and up-skill on works related to other existing/new customers.
    • You’ll be Maintaining and reporting condition of assigned vehicles, equipment, tools and PPE.
    • You’ll be recommending improvements and cost reductions where identified.

    What you’ll bring

    • You’ll bring problem solving skills
    • We’ll need you to be applying LAN & WAN Internetworking skills (plug Ethernet cables and pre-staged devices as needed).
    • Installation, glanding, termination and testing of SWA power cables, Cat 5/Cat 6, Belden, 50 pair copper cabling and Fibre optic looms
    • Rack, charger and telecom equipment installation and commissioning to an excellent standard
    • Installation and support of PDH, SDH, from various vendor models (Alcatel, Avara, Orion Modem, Comtel, Microwave radio, Nokia sub rack technology’s DC & AC) as per customer orders and instructions received from PMs.
    • You’ll understand configuration of Routers, Switches, Muxes.
    • You’ll have experience of Installation of additional FOX mux cards, Ericsson cards and SFP’s and fibre patching
    •We’ll need you to Install, configure, fault finding, report and maintain FOX 515s & 615s Multiplexer, Eltek power supplies, optical equipment (ADVA) and synchronisation equipment
    • Installation and commissioning of Forced Air Cooling within existing Optel cubicles, including alarm modifications to FOX equipment and testing
    • Installation of DC Power, rectifier systems Eaton/Eltek, DC-DC systems Danica/E-Plex DC inverter chassis and associated DC and alarm cabling
    • Perform industry standard testing as required on telecommunication systems (Testing of Ethernet, GE Ethernet, STM and G703 Services)
    • Experience with fault finding.
    • Good customer relations skills & communication skills
