What will you be doing?
- Manage and supervise a wide range of highway-based projects on-site ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, to budget and in accordance with the HSEQ standards required by M Group and Oxfordshire County Council (OCC).
- Be responsible for day-to-day management of site tasks, and responsible for recording the as-built information and change items. Monitor site activities against target programmes reporting exceptions in outputs, delays etc.
- Complete site diary's, organise and deliver site inductions and daily briefings, keep good site records and ensure all subcontractors and operatives have the relevant documentation to start work safely.
- Aid the site agents / works manager with the development of the construction programmes and methodology utilising existing knowledge & experience and through engagement with Key Supply Chain.
- Manage all risks effectively on site and ensure adherence to M Group risk management processes.
- Ensure in-house and subcontract personnel are competent and fully trained to undertake their work.
- Represent M Group and the Client in a professional manner at all times. Be customer focused and proactive in managing customer interface to prevent / eliminate complaints.
- Able to supervise night and weekend operations when required and provide a report to the Site Agents / Project Manager at the end of the shift
What they’ll bring
- Possession of SSSTS / SMSTS desirable
- CSCS (supervisor card) desirable
- Driving licence
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of supervising Highway improvement and public realm work.
- A practical understanding of health and safety management and the requirements of CDM.
- A working knowledge of quality and environmental standards for highway improvement work.
- Experience of managing and supervising staff, workforce and subcontractors.
- Commercially aware with knowledge of budget and cost control processes.
- Good communication skill
