    Where you’ll be working?


    BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions. 
     
    What you'll be doing?

    Design Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems in compliance with HSG258, COSHH, CDM and Safe by Design principles. Produce feasibility, preliminary and detailed engineering designs, including capture hoods, extraction arms, enclosures, ductwork, fans, filtration systems, dust collectors and discharge stacks. Perform airflow, velocity, duct sizing, pressure loss, fan duty and system balancing calculations to develop efficient and effective ventilation solutions. Prepare and manage technical documentation, including drawings, P&IDs, equipment schedules, specifications, risk assessments, calculation reports, commissioning records, O&M manuals and as-built documentation. Conduct site surveys, assess process hazards and verify existing systems to support design development. Participate in design reviews, HAZID and HAZOP workshops, ensuring hazards are identified and mitigated throughout the design lifecycle. Provide technical support during installation, commissioning and handover, review test data and performance reports, respond to technical queries, and ensure all designs meet regulatory, safety and performance requirements.

    What you’ll bring
    • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
    • BOHS P601, P602, P603 and P604 qualifiactions
    • 5 years plus LEV Design Experience
    • Membership of BOHS, CIBSE or IMechE
    • AUTO CAD
    • Excel-based engineering calculations
    • CFD Modeling Software
