    At M Group Rail & Aviation, we’re dedicated to ensuring the safe, efficient, and seamless movement of people and goods across some of the most vital transportation sectors in the UK rail, aviation, defence, and adjacent markets. Our expertise spans these industries, where we maintain, and upgrade critical infrastructure - leading the way in shaping the future of transport.
    This role is in our Aviation department, our team is responsible for a wide range of specialist civil, mechanical and electrical engineering works including major international airports, regional airports and RAF airfields across the Group.

    What will you be doing? 

    You’ll be responsible for:
    Managing the safe day-to-day delivery of specialist electrical engineering projects across major international airports, regional airports and RAF airfields. 
    Planning, coordinating and supervising electrical installation, maintenance, upgrade and replacement works to ensure delivery in line with programme, budget and quality requirements. 
    Leading and managing electrical operatives, subcontractors and specialist supply chain partners on site. 
    Ensuring all electrical works are carried out in compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards, company procedures and client requirements. 
    Managing electrical works associated with airfield ground lighting (AGL), LV infrastructure, power distribution, control systems, building services, utilities and specialist airport electrical systems. 
    Coordinating site activities to ensure minimal disruption to operational airport and airfield environments. 
    Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, test documentation and work packages to ensure works are delivered in accordance with design requirements. 
    Monitoring project progress and providing regular updates to the Project Manager on programme performance, resource requirements, risks and opportunities. 
    Managing site records, including daily diaries, permits, inspection reports, commissioning records, testing certification and quality documentation. 
    Ensuring all electrical installations are inspected, tested and commissioned in accordance with project specifications and statutory requirements. 
    Identifying and resolving technical, operational and construction issues to maintain project progress and programme objectives. 
    Supporting the management of project costs through effective resource planning, productivity monitoring and identification of variations. 
    Coordinating with clients, operational stakeholders, consultants, network operators and airport authorities to facilitate the safe execution of electrical works. 
    Managing shutdowns, isolations and commissioning activities in accordance with approved procedures and operational requirements. 
    Leading daily briefings, toolbox talks and coordination meetings to promote a positive safety culture and effective communication across the project team. 
    Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications and project standards. 
    Supporting project planning and logistics activities, particularly where works interface with operational airport infrastructure and critical electrical assets. 
    Ensuring permits, approvals, RAMS and access requirements are in place prior to commencing works. 
    Supporting the Project Manager in achieving project safety, commercial, programme and quality objectives. 
    Acting as the primary site-based representative for the business, maintaining professional relationships with clients, stakeholders and operational teams at all times.

    What you’ll bring

    Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager, Electrical Supervisor or Senior Electrical Engineer within construction, infrastructure, aviation or industrial environments.
    Demonstrable experience managing the installation, testing, commissioning and handover of electrical infrastructure projects.
    Strong knowledge of electrical engineering systems including LV distribution, power systems, control systems, containment, cabling and associated electrical infrastructure.
    Significant experience delivering works within live operational environments where safety, coordination and stakeholder management are critical.
    Experience managing electrical subcontractors, direct labour and specialist suppliers to achieve programme, quality and commercial objectives.
    A strong understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements within the construction and engineering sectors.
    The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, schematics and commissioning documentation.
    Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
    Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with operational stakeholders and project teams.
    Commercial awareness with an understanding of project costs, productivity, change management and resource utilisation.
    Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
    A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across projects throughout the Group.
    Essential AGL Experience
    Experience delivering Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) projects within operational airport and airfield environments.
    Knowledge of AGL systems including:
    AGL primary and secondary cabling.
    Airfield lighting circuits.
    Runway lighting systems.
    Taxiway lighting systems.
    Stop bars.
    Approach lighting.
    Signage and guidance systems.
    CCRs (Constant Current Regulators).
    ALCMS and AGL control systems.
    Airfield electrical infrastructure and associated duct networks.
    Experience planning and coordinating AGL maintenance, refurbishment, replacement and installation works.
    Understanding of airside working requirements, permits and operational constraints.
    Experience managing runway and taxiway possession works and delivering projects within restricted operational windows.
