This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As our new Lead Construction Manager, you’ll oversee all Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability requirements across Water and Water Recycling non‑infrastructure and infrastructure projects. Acting as Principal Contractor under CDM 2015, you’ll ensure full compliance for all delivered construction activities. By leading local construction delivery teams, you'll embed a culture of zero accidents and zero defects while driving performance against key delivery milestones to provide the highest level of service to our customers.
You'll manage site construction teams within your allocated portfolios to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget. This includes facilitating construction kick‑off meetings, leading project health checks and overseeing tier 2 supplier performance across Safety, Time and Quality. You’ll approve RAMS, lead Constructability Reviews, Project Rehearsals and Fit for Assembly sign‑off, and champion initiatives focused on reducing waste and embodied carbon. Ensuring the timely raising of contractual and commercial notices will also be key to successful project delivery.
Working closely with the Framework Manager, you’ll support the planning of long‑ and short‑term resource needs across labour, plant and materials. Above all, you will lead by example in creating a safe, supportive working environment where teams feel confident to raise concerns. By combining standardised approaches with innovative construction techniques, you will help maintain our position as an industry leader.
What you'll bring
You’ll have proven experience of managing operational resources in a fast-paced Non-Infrastructure and infrastructure environment to compliment your HNC/Degree in Civil or Construction Management. You’ll be working dealing with large structures in the Water industry is essential.
Having attended a NEBOSH Training Scheme, you’ll hold a CSCS Card (Black minimum). Ensuring you provide the highest levels of safety management to our teams, customers and environment.
Able to inspire and lead a team. You’ll encourage and support groups and individuals to achieve critical tasks and outcomes. You'll have the ability to adopt a can-do attitude and willingness to be hands on if required to achieve the deliverables. You’ll be able to operate at all levels to suit need and the situation with the ability to manage conflicting demands.
You’ll demonstrate excellent communication skills and will be performance driven, with proven experience of managing multiple stakeholder groups both internal and external to the organisation.
