Where you'll be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our demand management and network infrastructure team. We look after 60 million meters and our teams provide advanced metering solutions to help manage demand for essential suppliers.

What you'll be doing?
You'll be required to attend 4 week training programme on all aspects of External meter installation where progression to an excavation team with fantastic earning potential. You’ll be required to work outdoors in all weathers as well as walking and standing on uneven ground. You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
As the role involves manual labour, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions, we’ll need you to have a level of fitness which will allow you to complete tasks safely.
We are seeking reliable and highly motivated individuals to install water meters for domestic properties as part of the WSP Yorkshire Wate Contract. Working as part of a 2 man trailer team, the role involves carrying out installations across Yorkshire whilst maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.
Working hours 07:00 -16:30 Monday to Friday. However, there may be times that you are asked to work outside this working pattern depending on business requirements and operational needs, therefore it is important that the successful candidate is flexible and willing to support the business when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of water meters for residential properties
- Support safe setup, operation and installation sites
- Complete work in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations
- Ensure tools, materials and equipment are used correctly, maintained and in good condition
- Accurately complete job records, risk assessments and required documentation
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
